The full rally experience from Paris to Dakar

Without the race against the clock

Riding from Paris to Dakar is a quest that is at the top of the bucket list for for many motorsport enthusiasts. But doing the full race against the clock may not be what you are imagining.

Maybe you are an adventurer seeking new experiences without racing against the clock or maybe you want the opportunity to explore the terrain and test your vehicle and driving skills before joining the full race to Dakar next year.

The adventure category in a nutshell

The adventure category will give you the full experience of the rally as you will share the race and camps with the rest of the participants every day and though you are racing without the pressure of the clock you are required to make it to camp every night in order to continue your trip to Dakar.

Choose your route every day

Each day you can choose your route between at least three options: 1) Doing the full race route but without the time limitations, 2) Doing a part of the race route and then some sections on paved road or 3) The route from camp to camp on the paved road (where available…).

Every night we will go through the options and help you choose the route that fits your driving skills, your vehicle and your team based on the next days terrain. And though you are racing without the pressure of the clock, you are required to make it to camp every night in order to continue your trip to Dakar.

Improve your navigation and sand dune skills

Besides getting a lot of help when preparing for the coming day and discussing navigation and terrain, we also offer you specific training session on driving in rocks, sand, dunes and on the beach along with a thorough introduction to the gps-navigation used in the rally.

Meet Bo, our adventure instructor

There will always be a dedicated member from the organisation that will be your primary contact and instructor. In 2020 your fantastic instructor will be Bo Degn, who has completed the rally three times in the race 4X4 category. Bo is very experienced in off-road navigation and driving in the Sahara region as well as in the far north above the arctic circle and on Iceland. Bo will follow the adventure category and will be your go-to person before and during the rally if you have questions or need advice.
