THe real way to dakar 2026

The 2026 edition of The Real Way to Dakar was organized under unique circumstances. Following the cancellation of another rally, we were approached by a group of participants looking for an alternative opportunity to reach Dakar.

With planning commencing in November and the event starting in mid-January, the preparation window was significantly shorter than what is normally required for an expedition of this scale. This naturally limited the time available for participants to register, prepare their vehicles, and make the necessary logistical arrangements.

At the same time, the 2026 edition provided an excellent opportunity to test and validate our organizational setup, logistics, support systems, and operational procedures in real-world conditions. The experience gained during this edition became an important stepping stone towards the full relaunch of The Real Way to Dakar in 2027, which had always been the original target year for the event’s return.

Due to the accelerated planning timeline, the 2026 edition was organized exclusively as an Adventure rally. This allowed participants to experience the journey to Dakar while enabling the organization to focus on route development, logistics, and operational testing ahead of the full return of both Adventure and Race categories in 2027.
